WALTON AVENUE ATELIER
Cleveland’s School for Classical Training

Life Drawing: Thursday Nights, 6 to 9 pm, $10, Drop-in

Saturday Morning Painting: Saturdays, 9 am-noon

Students will explore the painting concepts of form, value, color, and edges in a guided environment. Every Saturday, different still-life arrangements will be provided to work from. Every arrangement will encourage students to focus on a particular issue – from painting transparency and chrome to working in warm and cool temperature keys. Teaching artist, Adrian Eisenhower, will offer ideas and suggestions through demonstration, individual attention, and critiques.

Foundations of Drawing
: Tuesdays, 6:30-9 pm

This workshop is for students interested in developing a practical approach to drawing. Each class will build upon the previous one. We will start by copying from the 19th-century drawing book by Charles Bargue. By making copies, students will come into closer contact with works from the past and learn to use reason and historical methods to construct pictures. This foundational approach will allow students to participate in the history of art in unique and playful ways. Above all else, we will strive to keep open channels of creativity and inspiration.
